Yuma School District 1 to Host In Service for
Middle School Math Teachers

All middle school math teachers will attend the Middle School Applied Math Workshop.

To become successful in any of the careers in the sciences, engineering, or construction requires the ability to apply the concepts of mathematics. It is the hope of this work shop to accomplish three goals;

• Demonstrate the importance of the role you as a teacher of mathematics play in the success of your students as they consider careers which are deeply based on mathematics concepts.

• Provide the middle school math teacher with the tools to demonstrate to their students the practicality of math and its many everyday applications.

• Not add more to the already packed Math Curriculum, rather help the math teacher present the competencies to bring relevancy for their students.
